The project moves from a consideration on the significance of the word multy-family mixed use that means a sort of micro city which has container as a basic constructive element.
The container is considered as a minimum cell, not only housing but constructive in a general way: it is the brick for the entire structure which can take different functions: commercial, residential, sporting, car park…
The container wall/mall is the backbone of the system, developing on different levels: on the ground floor is open to allow direct link to the near Broad Train Station, while the upper level is a promenade with some breakpoint where there are basicly commercial areas.
The wall/mall has two heads, the most important is the one in front of the Station, which becomes a covered square, which try to involve Newark’s daily life offering as a stand for the users of station that, at the same time, could enter the container wall/mall.
Other organisms grow from the generative element container wall/mall, which are in opposition to wall’s simple geometry and show their mean quality of dynamism/fluency.
They are made of a container wall based on articulation of private and public spaces, in these structure there are mainly residential functions also for student, moreover in the eastern part takes place a hotel.
The structure has two wide green areas where take place sport activities and park with underground paths built using containers as retaining walls.
All the containers, provided with solar panel, mind environmental problem.
