KINETIC MODULARITY is the term coined to describe this particular solution.  It speaks to all aspects of the project in individual and unique ways; the term is redefined and applied for each expression and acts as the primary driving force.
The underlying structural system is intentionally designed to adjust to a broad spectrum of conditions; its self-building nature lends to having the ability to expand, dissolve, or potentially disappear as the economy, context, or society directs, making it a truly adaptive and innovative solution.
The “American Dream” is something that all strive to achieve, including the individual home with a garage.  A central goal is to make this possible in a higher density.  The majority of the units have the option of having an additional module attached which acts as the garage; these modules use an automated parking system integrated with the building cranes to deliver vehicles to the units without the need for a direct path of travel.
The site conveniently promotes a close relationship with public transportation and recognizing this is another important attribute of the design.  Developing a direct connection to the local mass transit network and fostering community interaction was simple and imperative, and was implemented through pedestrian linkages and gathering spaces throughout the site.  Through these connection, commuters are able to experience the terraced plaza, which houses a mixture of shops, offices, and assembly spaces, and  along with the residential components,  brings people in and through the site, whether lingering, socializing, or simply in transit.
