PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project concerns the realization of multi-function and multi-family living units using containers as main building material.

Starting from standard dimension of containers we developed a regular grid. This organization leads to the creation of repeatable and overlapping modular living units in order to create multiple configurations of buildings.

Every living module is made up of 40 containers including 2 apartments developed on one or two floor along requirements (In these boards we used two modules for four apartments, total 80 containers, and a system formed by two groups of overlaid united modules for eight apartments, total 160 containers).

Some portions of container are replaced with glass walls in order to ensure good life conditions for building’s users, eco-sustainability and energy saving. Glass walls looking on terraces are in serigraphed glass; the other glass walls are in transparent glass with brise-soleil: a strong sign that remind the grid scheme characterizing the project.

Buildings can take many configurations simply moving internal partitions, modifying colours or changing location of transparent / opaque walls

Modules are placed in the project area as low buildings around a square, located near the station, of Newark, in order to create a scenography.

Trees are planted around the square and in all the project area accordingly to an outline of green management.

On the cover is expected the insertion of a green roof and a system of solar panels.
